When it comes to truly unforgettable celebrations, few settings rival the elegance of a luxury yacht wedding. For couples seeking a distinctive and refined experience in the New Jersey and New York City wedding markets, a private yacht offers both exclusivity and breathtaking scenery. This celebration was a showcase of everything that makes a high-end wedding extraordinary: impeccable design, world-class service, and a one-of-a-kind backdrop.
As a luxury wedding planner in New Jersey and New York, I’ve had the privilege of curating events in some of the region’s most iconic venues. Yet there is something uniquely captivating about exchanging vows on the water, with the Manhattan skyline glistening in the distance. From a champagne-filled cocktail hour to a candlelit reception on deck, this wedding embodied the very definition of sophistication. For couples envisioning a celebrity-level wedding experience, whether in NYC, New Jersey, or as a destination wedding, a yacht provides the perfect canvas for timeless luxury.

I started planning with Jada and Eddie almost two years prior to the actual wedding date. We were in search of a creative venue and one where the menu could be curated to be fun and different. We talked about various options in both New Jersey and New York City and ultimately landed on a venue in between….
Fast forward to that venue no longer taking weddings and we were back to the drawing board!

Jada and Eddie, from Staten Island, always had this idea of having their wedding on The Staten Island Ferry. If you’re not from the area, you might not know just how iconic that actually would be.
But, various factors made that a little difficult…Thankfully, I’ve planned yacht weddings before and knew exactly how we could make the boat idea a total reality.

First and foremost, we would begin with the ceremony on land at The Hyatt Regency in Jersey City. The backdrop of this hotel is the incredible NYC skyline, which was truly important to Jada and Eddie.
Having the hotel as home base was the perfect choice…guests were able to check in and be there for the ceremony and Jada, Eddie, and their friends and family all could get ready with hair and makeup on site.

The details of Jada’s dress were just stunning and she looked like a total princess! The suite she got ready was incredibly spacious allowing more than enough room for those closest to get ready with her and of course for the hair and makeup team to work their magic.

And, of course, the room our bride got ready in had a spectacular balcony not just for taking pictures on but also for taking pictures from.

The Hyatt Regency truly had a spectacular ceremony option and the weather was literally perfect for Jada and Eddie’s wedding day. With 200 of their closest friends and family members, they had a beautiful ceremony with the incredible NYC skyline standing behind them.

A mix of white and greens were used for the floral design both on land and at sea. Gorgeous white roses flanked the newly married couple as they dipped in for their first kiss as husband and wife.

After the ceremony concluded, our couple marched down the aisle filled with happiness and joy. Guests tossed bright red rose petals as the exited and got ready to get on the yacht to continue the celebration at sea.

With a buffer of time built in at the end of the ceremony, guests were able to take plenty of pictures with the gorgeous backdrop of the NYC skyline. Our couple was anything but camera shy and the proof is in the amazing photos they took together!

With the pictures done and all guests on board, Jada and Eddie were ready to get the reception started. Another perfect detail of hosting the ceremony at The Hyatt Regency was the fact that the yacht pulled right up next to the ceremony location. This allowed our vendors easy access on and off the boat for set up and of course, made the transition seamless for the guests.

Of course, no wedding is complete without a total shoe switch-up. Jada opted for some kick ass heels on land but switched over to these sparkly bad boys when it came time to jump on the boat.
I am still obsessed over the sparkle!

Not only did our bride change her shoes, but she changed up her whole look to something flirty, fun, and very Jada for the later part of the reception. After the guests enjoyed endless stations of all different types of food, the main party was held on the top deck of the boat.
Thankfully, the weather was picture perfect so our DJ was able to set up and keep that dance floor packed all night long.

Did I mention that Eddie also had a wardrobe change? Kicking back with his guests and smoking cigars, it’s safe to say this wedding was a total vibe.

I love what I do as a wedding planner, but my job is so much more enjoyable when I’m working with a couple who is clearly head over heels in love and obsessed with each other. Jada and Eddie are that couple. You just know they were meant to be together.

As the night was coming to a close, the yacht continued to sail up and down the Hudson pausing at iconic spots like the Statue of Liberty. In fact, the cake cutting took place on the top deck just as we were at the statue giving plenty of photo opportunities.

Jada and Eddie took their time with the wedding planning process and, in the end, got the most epic day that they envisioned. Their energy and the vibes of their guests was nothing but fun and positive. I’m so glad I got the chance to plan with this incredible couple and I cannot wait to see where their journey takes them!
