I had the complete honor of planning a Philadelphia wedding with NFL Quarterback, Trace McSorley and his Penn State princess, Kasey Morano. Many of you probably know this already, but I am also a Penn State Alum and some of my favorite couples also went to Penn State.
Well, these two were no different and we had so much fun planning over the span of 18 months. Their wedding was featured in People Magazine, but here are even more beautiful wedding pictures to give you an idea of how perfect their wedding day was!
Trace and Kasey knew they wanted to get married in Philadelphia and needed a big enough wedding venue for their almost 400 person guest count. There were a few different options I gave them to consider, but they fell in love with The Crystal Tea Room and it was the perfect choice!
Having planned Crystal Tea Room weddings before, I love being there with larger guest counts to really fill the room. There is so much fun energy when there are so many people, whether they’re packing the dance floor or just sitting down listening to the toasts.
We started the day at The Loews Hotel, where hair and make-up got in bright and early to doll up the gorgeous bridesmaids. The ladies took over the hospitality suite and our power team, Beauty on Location and JC Hair Designs took care of everything.
While Kasey and her squad got ready, Trace got ready on a different floor in the hotel with his groomsmen. My team split up to keep the two of them separated until they were ready to do the first look at the hotel.
After an amazing first look session and portraits together, we all hopped on the party bus to head to an amazing photo location with the entire wedding party. I was living on my phone, watching the radar because there were scattered showers predicted for the entire day. We had plenty of umbrellas with us, including a huge white one for our bride to use in pictures.
After spending some time at Merchant’s Exchange Place, we all got back onto the bus to head over to the church for the ceremony. Along the way, our hair and make-up team touched up Kasey’s absolutely perfect natural curls and fixed any of the makeup that had been touched by the rain. Everyone was super excited to get to the church and there was definitely a chorus of “Going To The Chapel” being sung at full volume.
The wedding party made their way inside the church while Kasey stayed on the bus with her dad until right before she had to walk down the aisle. Almost 400 guests packed this beautiful church and the entire room was filled with so much love and happiness. Once it was time, we helped Kasey out of the bus and fixed her dress and veil for her last walk as a single woman.
After the beautiful ceremony, every went over to The Crystal Tea Room. We arrived ahead of the guests and were able to get plenty of pictures. Thankfully, Kasey and Trace had their first look which got a lot of the pictures done before the ceremony, so no one felt rushed or pressured once we arrived at the venue.
Of course, Kasey and Trace weren’t the only Penn State alumni at the wedding that night…in fact, a huge portion of their guest list either went to Penn State or was a Penn State fan. There was no question about having a tribute to Penn State in the ice sculpture at the cocktail hour. It was a huge hit and yes, the seafood was amazing too!
Before the guests got to see the ballroom, we brought Kasey and Trace in for a formal room reveal. This is one of my favorite moments of any wedding because my couple finally gets to see what has been in my mind the second we started planning together. I know they are going to love what they see and that it will be everything they could have imagined.
This is also a great time to take additional couple shots on the dance floor. With Dreamtime from EBE in the background, a white dance floor, and cold sparklers going off, there were plenty of amazing pictures taken.
The ballroom was filled with tall and low centerpieces in dark jewel toned colors. Kasey always knew she wanted to have a dramatic combination of colors and she was never afraid to experiment with different options. Floating candles surrounded the tall pieces while black taper candles were placed around the low centerpieces.
The reception got started with Kasey and Trace having their first dance before celebrating with everyone on the dance floor. The party started immediately and the dance floor was packed all night. After a short dance set, guests were seated for their first course and toasts from Kasey and Trace’s family and friends.
Kasey and Trace had beautiful front row seats from their sweetheart table that was covered in a garland of flowers and candles. Above their seat was a gorgeous green arch that framed the couple all night and was the perfect backdrop for pictures. The room had an amber glow all night until after dinner when the party really got started and we turned the club lights on. The highlight of the night? A “Sweet Caroline” singalong with a special guest who performed with the band.
The whole day was absolutely amazing and there was nothing but pure love in the air. Once the cake was served and the reception ended, Kasey got into her after party look and the newlyweds danced the night away with a DJ.
